The Sinners are a hardened street gang claiming the northern side of central Red Sector in Withmore City. Known on the streets as the Sarz, they are associated with drug dealing, prostitution, and violent defense of their turf. Their numbers have traditionally been described as roughly equal to those of the Arteries and at least a third greater than those of the Snakes.
Sinn Street is the heart of Sinner territory. The street runs east to west across northern central Red Sector, and its strip clubs, brothels, and nightlife form the backdrop to the gang's presence.
Their reach extends into Little Kyoto in the northwest and San Mayo in the northeast. In both neighborhoods, the Sinners are a visible force on the streets. The Yakuza are said to control business and crime behind the scenes in Little Kyoto, while the American Mafia holds influence over organized crime in San Mayo.
Sinner claims are advertised through graffiti, shouted challenges, and the presence of gang members. Crossing onto their turf as a rival can turn an ordinary street corner into a battleground.
The Sinners' colors are blue and black, and the number 666 is associated with the gang. "Sarz" appears in their street slang and territorial slogans, including "Sarz turf" and "God sez."
Their leader is known as the King Sinner. Loyalty to the gang and defense of its territory are backed by a readiness to answer challenges with violence.
Chaim has led the Sinners since at least 2091. Before him, the gang was apparently run by a man named Creslin. What happened to Creslin, and how he lost control, remain unclear.
In 2091, former Sinner Seven Ecks killed Chaim during an unsuccessful attempt to seize leadership. Ecks subsequently founded the Snakes, taking a following of former Sinners with him. The breakaway established a separate gang on Fuller Street.
The Sinners have longstanding rivalries with both the Snakes and the Arteries. Their shared history with the Snakes has not prevented repeated clashes over territory and respect. Both gangs also harbor a deep hatred of the Arteries.
Raids, retaliation, and disputes over individual blocks have repeatedly brought these rivalries into the streets. The boundaries between the gangs' territories are claims that must be defended, and a challenge to those claims can quickly become a wider fight.
