TekSoft

TekSoft was a small technology corporation and a subsidiary of New Light Media. Its office was in the northwest section of central Gold Sector in Withmore City.

In October 2088, TekSoft announced plans to re-release Matrix software in Withmore. The announcement drove a surge in technology stocks as investors anticipated the return of the interactive technology.

In January 2089, TekSoft's version of the Matrix suffered a catastrophic failure. Corporate and citizen bank accounts across the city were drained. The cause remains unknown. Testing malfunction, hackers and corporate espionage are among the theories, but none has been established. The City Council seized all TekSoft property and closed the corporation following the Corporate Council's recommendation.

TekSoft also served as the security firm for Withmore Savings Bank. The bank's history records losses of 371 billion chyen on January 6, 2089, caused by a vulnerability between its systems and the supposedly secure Grid. TekSoft reimbursed those losses.
