Imaginary Worlds
Check out this podcast!

If you aren't listening to Imaginary Worlds, you should be. It's highly relevant to our interests. This episode is amazing, and discusses LARP, but really, it could 100% be talking about MUDs.

Also, this episode happened because people tweeted at the guy that does this Podcast (he is also a well known NPR personality). So... maybe we start tweeting him about doing an episode on MUDs :)

I would love to do LARP, Never found any places near me that do it though :'(
Really? Come to Boston! I run them :)
My fantasy is actually to get a bunch of Sindome people together for a weekend at a campsite and run a post apoc dystopian LARP for everyone.
If I had the money to fly across the ocean I would join in on one!

Unfortunately, I'm in Scotland an' It's not all that popular over here. Either that or I'm looking in the wrong places...

That would be amazing. :D

Is there a particular organization your group's a part of?

bunch of Sindome people together for a weekend at a campsite and run a post apoc dystopian LARP

That sounds bloody amazing! God damn the universe for making travel so expensive and stuff.

I typically run games under the BeEpic company umbrella. It's a collaborative thing, like Sindome, when games are run. Typically they aren't run by just one person and one person alone. It's a lot of work but so rewarding.

I apply things I've learned helping run Sindome. It translates basically 1 to 1. Though people are a lot easier to deal with in real life because of like, not being on the internet and stuff. But emotions can run hot too.

A Sindome LARP would be so great. I know a place to run it. Rent out this campsite that does like, actually camps in the Winter. It's pretty secluded. There are a bunch of buildings and cabins.

I've never thought of the plot until now but... we would be 'San Mara'.

Everyone would play someone that lives in San Mara. Every now and then people from the Dome would show up. Raiders would attack and the town would have to be defended. Maybe the jakes show up and wreck some shit and have to be driven away... other NPCs from the game would drop in as they have biz in San Mara. There would be an overall story arc of things that have to be done to save the town, it would be great! It would be an awesome look at life in the Badlands.

That would be epic to take part in!

Another game I play online does a meet-up once a year. They rent out this Holiday House and just meet up and party for the week. Each person pays a portion off the costs of the house and the food etc.

Ever thought of doing something similar? Not sure how much attention it would get here but it'd be cool to do if it works. Not sure I'd be able to make it though cos' of travels an' stuff but heh. It'd be cool none the less..

Moving this to it's own post.
That would be glorious. I've never done actual LARP but I've always wanted to try it.

At one point I almost got into Dagorhir though.

Bumping because this podcast just gets better and better. I am hoping he will one day do an episode on MUDs.
Digging it. Tossing in a recommendation for the episode on The Expanse (and for the show/books as well) for some very Sindome-y political intrigue.

The show's more hard scifi, but it's got some cyberpunky flair. The first season follows around a noir-y detective around a lot.

New episode is about larps and features meeee
I would genuinly fly to do a sindome LARP. The LARP scene near me died years ago.
