The way drugs are now they just aren't used. I spoke with a player at length about the problem and we think it may be that they just don't last long enough to be useful like cyberware is. So I have increased the length in which most drugs last. Some already lasted awhile. Other drugs, now last A LOT longer. Up to 6 hours in some cases.
I know this seems like a LONG time. But, drugs are expensive in their own right, and people just don't use them. At all. We need to create the need for them, and that means making them more useful. We have all the tools to allow players to create and engineer great drugs, and that means player jobs. We've just got to get people using them.
I suggest everyone pick up some drugs, try a hit or two, and notice how long they last. Long enough that you can sign on, take a hit, be BETTER, and probably sign off before the effects wear off. This means that cyberware isn't the only thing that you can get a long term boost out of.
