Sortof Random

So, often times when I'm on in the mornings I see some new people popping in and creating characters or just wandering around as Sam_Guests.

A lot of the time the admins are idle, usually that's because it's pretty early in the morning. So, my idea is to put something in the char development area, the guest log in, or maybe even both, about the ooc channel. That way if they have a question when there's no admins on someone could help them out without having to be in the same room as them.

I can definitely see how this sort of thing might get abused as a guest, but it might still be worth it to at least put something in when you come out of the char-gen.

Just a thought.

For what it's worth, I kinda agree.  I mean there's been many late nights where it 'seems' no one is on except me and a sam_guest  and being who I am IC, it's not really plausible that I'd be around them to answer any questions they may have or whatnot.  I know the helpfiles are indeed helpful, but if they were tipped off about the OOC channel, it might be possible that someone not in a position ICly at the time still might be able to answer a question the help files did not address.
I think it's a pretty good idea, I'll see what I can do.
Okay, they will now see this when they go IC:

Type '@newbie' for basic help to get you started.
Type '@rules' to read the rules you are bound by.
If you need to speak to an admin, type 'xhelp <whatever>'
Admin may not always be around to answer your questions,
but another player may be able to! '@xjoin ooc' to join the
OOC Chat Channel.  Then 'xm Message' to send a message.
