Shoot through meatshields
Meat is only so thick

Pretty straightforward idea, add the potential for a person shooting at someone holding another person up as a meatshield to receive partial damage depending on the size of the gun and the skill of the shooter.

I think there should also (and maybe there is?) be a chance that a skilled shooter hits the person using the meatshield. Feels like as it stands right now it's sort of a perfect shield? Maybe I just haven't run into the times that strikes/bullets get by though.

Guns with bigger bang go through more and hit more! Wouldn't necessarily be opposed to certain weapons like katanas having the same deal. If you hold up a victim and I push a katana through them with force, you're gonna be feeling that when it passes through them.

Skilled attackers can still hit the defender, meat shields are not perfect.
Shooting a person who's using someone as a meatshield is definitely possible from my experience, but being able to shoot through them could be neat. Maybe like depending on your combat stance you'll either try to shoot the person using the meatshield, or you'll just fire at whatever's in front of you.
Rad, thanks batko, still think a big ass gun should pass through the shield. Especially if the shield isn't doughed up.
I think every attack that hits the human shield should run the risk of killing them since the 2nd most effective ones seem to be human shields who are in the near-death condition where they can be resuscitated. The best human shields are corpses since those are so impenetrable I think I may have bugged that at one point. Don't quote me on the last bit though, it's been a while since I've encountered that.
