Allow putting stickers on photographs
IC labels

I know that there have been a variety of of proposals similar to this ranging from making photos work like a letter to allowing you to give a photo an IC label when printing to attaching photos to letters and flyers.

I thought I would bring this one up as it might be pretty straightforward to implement (though I am not assuming it is). Just allow characters to put stickers onto photos. This way they can label them if it's important to them.

There was a thread about being able to name photos but this is the a very cool solution that comes with unexpected consequences.
I think this is a neat solution to when you have 900 photos kicking around and don't want to take an hour sorting through photos of the same location.

On the upside, there's a good potential to spoil even more data with stickers than simply aliasing the object. "Me and my ace cools" doesn't look good for you when you get exposed hanging out with some bad choombas and are trying to play it off.

I like it.

This seems like a great idea, though the permanence of sticker labels in sticker machines makes it less practical.
You make a selection at the sticker printing kiosk.

= This kiosk will let you design your own sticker

= for just 200c. The design will be available

= for you and others to purchase after. DO

= NOT DESIGN THE STICKER FOR YOUR EXACT USE

= THIS TIME, IT WILL BE PUT ON CARS, GUNS,

= SWORDS, JACKETS, ARMOR, TOOLS, ETC. THE PLACE

= THE STICKER WILL BE PUT IS NOT IN YOUR CONTROL

= SO DO NOT BE SPECIFIC.

= Press 'enter' to continue.

From what I remember, sticker messaging is appended to @describe as 'blah %t blah blah' So in principle you could make sticker labels with @messaging like:

A scribble that reads 'Winter 2104' can be made out on the %t.

Which wouldn't break any of the sticker rules, but consider they have to be generic and every sticker shows up on the machine I don't know how practical it would be.

Could be useful for single, very special photographs.

It seems like a 'caption' command or something would be better.
That was the unexpected consequence I was thinking about. Heh.
I was expecting messaging like 0x1mm mentioned. Simple wording that could look fine on a photo or a bumper.

I was also aware of how the sticker machines worked and that how they work will impact how stickers would be used in conjunction with photos. I can, however, see ways this could be useful even with the limits stickers have.

I proposed this because it looks like it might be a simple change, not because it would be something that checked the boxes on everyone's wish list. This might or might not be the case but if it is a simple change, it could bring some much desired functionality (though with certain limitations) quickly and still wouldn't bar the development of other options.

Further, another option down the line wouldn't make being able to put stickers onto photos useless - this ability could still useful. So it's not like allowing photos to be stickered now would become pointless down the line when the ability to specify IC photo names when printing is introduced (if it was ever introduced). The two features could be used together.

The purpose of stickers is not to be labels. While this is an easy code change, it would encourage an incorrect usage of the sticker code. We will not be doing this. However, I've discussed with Johnny and we are making a different change to support the use case of labeling photos.
Photos can now be labeled.
