I have personally wandered through almost every corner of the city, and have to come find that the vast, vast majority of large pads are vacant.

Why are there so many if they are never utilized? There is so much RP potential and cool shit behind them. It is definitely my opinion that these can be used more instead of being locked behind rare and temporary RP rewards or ancient permapad memberships.

So here are some ideas to give them out more often.

1. Leases

A large pad should be accessible to leaseholders for the full duration of their lease. (Mix Lease - > Large Pad in RED) (Topside Lease - > Large Pad Topside)

2. Powerful Factions

I already understand that these are given out by powerful factions, but I feel as though not enough from what I have seen by certain mix factions. In my opinion, for the elite factions where the members are required to basically be Player GMs and such it would aces if the large pad lasted for as long as their membership in that faction.

3. Normal Factions

For certain large factions in the mix or mixer service position (TERRA, CGH) ETC it would make sense if the most senior positions were given some of the lower end large pads that are not that pricey compared to others while apart of that faction. I have seen some of these pads and I can attest they are definitely not that insane or opulent to the point that it woudnt make sense for a senior member to be given one of these. Maybe even Walkers or LTS in the gangs while they're ganged up?

tbh, i'm also interested in what i've heard briefly on the forums about some large pads being meant as potential HQs for player-run groups or factions. i feel like the qualifications for /who/ or how to access large pads for a player led faction hq like that are very blurry/not defined but it's also such a niche use case (since i think player led/created factions are, as a whole, not super common occurrence) that i do get why. i'm also just intrigued as to how the process works/if that's still what large pads are intended for as a system.

deffo agree that it'd be nice to see seniority rewarded in other mix factions too. esp orgs like terra/gangs that are often heavier on combat/risk and often toss you into the front lines and jumble you around in the sindomian air fryer

I like some of them being used for player led factions. From what I have gathered is that it is encouraged to join the official lore based factions, but nothing but roadblocks will occur if you try to branch out with your own faction. I think that tends to play more into the thinking that we are leaving the lights on for past characters, but I can understand the decision from a management POV. I think a good middle ground would be to allow player led factions some of these places for permanent HQ's and when the faction dies out, it dies out.

The Membership page mentions that occasionally large pads become available for members. Is there a chance this could happen again in the foreseeable future or is this outdated data?

They are typically faction rewards, I'm pretty sure.
