Skill-gated examine

This was inspired by this thread here: https://sindome.org/bgbb/open-discussion/anything-really/how-to-character-creation-without-tears-1328/ and I admittedly don't know the feasibility of it, but, thought it might potentially be a bridge over knowledge gap.

Maybe have some commands for items listed under examine gated by the skill the examining character has in the appropriate skill. Or helpfiles gated similarly, to avoid a bottleneck of knowledge that a character should possess even if their player is brand new to the game.

There's some skills where if you examine an item, it can show you some commands that are gated by skill. Namely crafting commands (help crafting)
I'm kinda confused what you're suggesting here. Are you suggesting that some commands should be completely hidden if you don't have the relevant skills? If so, I'm very, very against this idea.
examine and inspect already changed based off what you're looking at and your skills, i also don't know what you're suggesting here
More the opposite, in the thread people were talking about how people take skills but don't know necessarily what can be done with it and that is why mentors are "necessary" for some of them. But the mentors and the interested people might not be on the same schedule, may have burned out, that sort of a deal, so at least having it available in another form would help while not just opening the flood gates like some seemed concerned about.
