Anything this intrusive should be detectable at a glance with a perception check or something. There should also be a reasonable ceiling to it. I don't have anymore feelings on this idea otherwise though. I just don't want microphones being attached to phones and left there moving from buyer to pawnshop to new buyer with any thought of scanning for it long forgotten.

I think surveillance microphones are a good middle ground for tapping comms, plus other more devious methods. Most of you are already being watched by someone.

There is existing tech to detect nefarious hidden tech, so I figured it would pick that up as well when scanned.
