Mono Wires should be on the hand
Kinda dumb you cant use it with short sleves.

Exactly what the title and sub title says. This weapon costs 56,000 chy plus change. It's the best weapon you can get as a martial artist.

But you can't wear sleeves. So you can't wear a poncho, a hoodie, an armored shirt, any jump or bodysuit… It's just... It makes NO SENSE.

You mean a WRIST WHIP. A thing that is described as coming out of the wrist, can't be worn with sleeves? You can't tug your sleeve down 2 inches to release the wire?

The easy fix, is for the chrome to just be on the hand, so gloves cover it instead.

I been griping about the way wrist whips are handled in the game ever since I started playing. It's like there is a very strong favoring of Brawling in usefulness with multiple chrome options, where I have seen people activate knux even when wearing gloves, but martial arts gets 1 oversized weapon and 1 piece of chrome that is seriously limited in it's usefulness. Been thinking that there should be more weapon options that are compact and offer both offensive and defensive options, that mono-whips should be usable as long as you aren't wearing a type of hazmat suit or armor that covers both the arms and the hands and that martial arts should have some sort of chrome option that allows blocking of weapons. I have just seen little point in trying to post this as I have seen every martial arts argument on the boards that I have looked at basically dismissed as unimportant and though it hasn't been said, the impression I get is that it is believed that because it looks flashy, that's good enough and it doesn't have to be as versatile or diverse in it's options as brawling.
Martial Arts complements well with firearms skills and melee weapon skills in terms of stats, which makes it better than Brawling – you can invest in the stats to be a good shooter or good swordswoman and be a good martial artist. Brawling has less overlap.
Mono wires can block, as an FYI.

But I 100% agree with you.

I also think there should be more martial arts weapons.

Nunchuks, Kama's, Singhams. bladed fans. Those weird poles that are segmented like nunchucks.

Want to make the clarification on my post that when I say armor that covers both hands and arms, I mean in one piece with no chance of there being any way to make a gap at the wrist.

Whether or not it would be usable with a poncho is debatable and I can see arguments both ways. That since you can effectively expose your hands, you should be able to use it or that they are just too baggy and would get in the way of a wrist whip making it impossible without a high probability of tangling the whip or slicing up the poncho.

Even something as simple as eskrima style batons as a cheaper, one-handed martial arts weapon would be realistic and reasonable. However, as said above, I've gathered from other convos on this topic that it is seen as a complete non-issue to a large portion if not a majority of the playerbase, mostly due to the stats overlap mentioned above.

I frankly think it's pretty silly considering how brawling has a very strong advantage with what stats it uses and how they can be raised, on top of which martial arts can hardly compete to overtake the weapon skills it shares relevant stats with even if it had a few better options. Oh, well, though.

"Because of the stats overlap."

Most things in this game overlap, stat wise.

Should knives not have knives because it overlaps with swords?

Should Longguns not have longguns because it overlaps with pistols and smudges?

That makes no sense.

Unless martial arts adds to or averages with other weapon skills I don't see how it is more versatile in stat overlaps with other weapon skills. I have seen plenty of Melee Brawlers and Brawler Pistoleers that do just fine at being super dangerous so don't see where this argument holds any weight at all. And if Martial Arts does somehow improve other weapon skills it should say something about that in it's help files but I have never seen any evidence that it does. The only thing alluded to in the help files that I have ever seen is that Martial Arts is more affected by brains and Brawling is more affected by brawn but I'm pretty sure the equation is a lot more complex than Martial Arts relying entirely on Wits and Brawling on Strength as most skills seem to be affected by multiple stats.
Why is martial arts advertised as the "self defense" side of hand to hand combat when every piece of Chrome marketed towards the self defense skill involves having to take off all my clothes to use my self defense chrome?

And that's if Pulseguards even work for martial artists. I've been told ICly that Pulseguards just fail completely if you're not in the Brawling stance.

Just another complaint in the long list of everyone pretending that thing are balanced when everything is designed around the combat characters being coddled so fucking hard and all they do is act like it's so hard to be part of the Swing Down Squad.

bUt yOU cAN't DiSArm CHROME!

And you can't disarm a grapple. Funny how choke/snap builds empirically win grapples every time. Per Slither.

But do Pulseguards break Grapples? Bring that up and you're threatened with your silent choke/snap in the sewers becoming a silent choke/snap in the sewers.

Pulseguards DO NOT work with martial arts.

Literally saw someone with them in, using martial arts, block with the forearm that had a pulseguard. And notta.

Even if this is something the PLAYERBASE doesn't care much about. I think STAFF should look it over and adjust the mono wires to actually be not gimped.

Why?
Simple. More viable weapons, mean for fantasies being lived out by players, and more variety of character types, plots, and fights.

+Boost.

And not just the mono-whip, I feel the arm blade and all cyber weapons too.

And if it doesn't make sense for the arm blade, perhaps another kind of buff. Or maybe even be able to get sleeved armor to be able to be 'adjusted' to be compatible with cyberweapons by weapon techs, more work and RP.

These weapons are already at a major disadvantage compared to other kinds…I get they can't be disarmed, but from my experience and testing with other people that's already pretty unrealistic in mid to upper levels of combat anyways.

You already can't upgrade (at least in the same way you do with normal weapons), specialize. Why not just make it rhand only? It would definetly promote more cyber weapon usage too I feel. More utilizing cool ass cyber weapons in the game would also definetly help with cyberpunk immersion.

Well, no, the arm-blades needing uncovered arms makes sense, as they… come out of your forearms. Like the mantis blades in CP2077. Aside from that, though, yeah. Monowhips should be on the hands, and, really, we do need more martial arts weapons. Aside from monowhips there's... one. And it's not particularly amazing.
There's one other martial arts weapon in the game that you would never actually expect to be a weapon used by a martial artist, which I won't spoil here. The unarmed disciplines of the game are extraordinarily neglected, with martial arts being the runt of the ltiter in even that regard. I feel like a poll is in order to bring some attention to it?
Theres another martial arts weapon? Other than the Bo and the wire. Huh, first Im hearing about it. I know brawling has the threebrass knuckles, spiked Brass knuckles and cyberknux . But I didnt know martial arts had an additional
