We all know that you can print your own articles and scream sheets and distribute them for independent media purposes, however, it lacks the same bite as having it published on the Globe.
I propose setting up some kind of submission terminal on Red and Gold that allows an independent journalism to submit an article to NLM. The article can then be reviewed for quality, content, and relevance before being accepted by a player editor or gm. Once accepted, the article is posted to the Globe and the player must revisit the terminal to cash out their pay. An industry standard can be set to make the process for the journalist worth it due to them not having access to things like employment perks and reimbursements.
This could also be a great way to establish a clear progressive path for a journalist who wants to work at NLM. They can point to their "time in the trenches" of submitted articles that have been accepted.
