Flag players as new to the game
So like, are you an immy, or are you an IMMY immy?

Based on a convo from xooc, I am suggesting that there be some kind of OOC flag on a character's description that shows that they have only been playing for 3 months or less. Then we can see if new immies are ACTUALLY new players who need a lot of hand-holding, plot hooks and goodwill from the playerbase to help them stick around, or if they're oldbies doing a re-roll.

Highlights from xooc about this idea:

svetlana: It annoys me when the CHARACTER benefits from the playerbase's goodwill and then the player decides to perm over a tiny inconvenience then make that same exact character again.

0x1mm: In my experience new players tend to bounce off the game in more predictable ways, they try for a few hours and quit, or they play on and off for a few weeks of declining interest and quit. It's almost always experienced players who have the week-old suicide churn.

Mikael: There is a sense of entitlement I feel. I think very newer players are owed being taught the ropes and perhaps being nudged into RP hooks. You obviously dont know who's playing, but if it's someone who seemingly knows how things work already I don't think they are owed anything and shoul seek investment/hooks themselves without relying on good will.

Mikael: I also see the same issue with newer characters, played by obviously experienced people coming in and wreaking havoc ICLY, even killing other characters and heavily relying on the fact people dont want the reputation of killing immys. Last time I saw someone do that they just got permed within 2-3 days tho cause they didnt have a clone and seemed to think nobody would kill them, or got bored of their char.

I would love this. Maybe make their names a different color?
Color will be tough since some players may set names to a certain color preference, or be colorblind or visually impaired, but I do like the idea of this flag overall.
What if their Title is just automatically set to newbie and they can't change it?
Perhaps the easiest way would be to attach it to their bit. Something like JoeBaka*, where the asterisk is the indicator.
I wouldn't want new players to lose the ability to set their own custom tags but an additional tag (sure) and if this is something that IS done, ponchos/hoodies/disguise items should mask this tag so no meta can be done too.
Maybe something between their display name and their description.

JoeBaka (short fat dude with red hair)
*JoeBaka is new to the game!
The dude waddling before you is short, fat, and ginger. He has a permanent scowl as he looks around the room.
Visibly flagging them as new would encourage people to treat them differently in a way that could negatively affect RP and lead to easy meta-ing regarding OOC names or possibly their previous characters (new immy doesn't have that player tag? It must be the same player as Joe who just permed). Just treat every immy like a new player.
think this would be a helpful addition but would also add from ooc chat that i think if introduced it should be announced to the player that they have the new player icon and made available to toggle off. obvs people shouldn't be able to flag themselves as newbies when they aren't, but some newbies also might not want the new-player-helping fanfare
If a player is legit new is there a reason they can't ask for a little grace in looc? Like when I first started playing I had no idea how to use an elevator and was so embarrassed when another character got frustrated and called me out on it. That's obviously not a FOIC situation because anyone should be able to call an elevator, so I think at least going over looc and saying "Hey sorry, I'm new and getting used to this interface!" should be entirely within the rules and deserving of understanding by their fellow players.
Treating every new immy as a new player is why OP idea'ed this in the first place.
It is being constantly abused, experienced players make new characters and do alot of things/ wreak lots of havoc while heavily relying on the fact people oocly dont want to target possible new players.

It also lets people know who could possibly use more of the help/resources/plot hooks compared to someone who is more experienced and can find their own way, doesnt need to be handheld. And so more resources can be focused on helping out those super green immies.
