Currently, daemons' only function is to monitor a single device. I think it would be cool if you could configure a daemon to monitor a geocode instead, and alert you whenever a specific SID enters or leaves the room it's monitoring. Or, for rooms that don't have ambient population, alert you when anyone enters or leaves it. This could be good for deckers working alongside solos trying to determine when exactly their target visits a certain location, for making sure nobody's sneaking around in your apartment…

Bumping this, I really think it would give daemons some real utility if they could ping you when they detect a specific SIC ID in a room they're monitoring.

Even if all it did was allow you to monitor when a geocoded location has been screwed with, this would be handy.

Maybe there could be like,

#monitor-geocoded which would function like a normal daemon and ONLY check to make sure another decker hasn't tried to run programs on that specific location. Could be good for business owners and so forth.

And then there could be like,

#tripwire-geocoded which would detect the moment a specific SIC ID enters the area. So if you REALLY don't like Joe Murder, and ban him from your store, you can hire a decker to make sure he never steps foot in your place.

And then maybe you could also include a sort of like, #trigger command to daemons so that they can fire off a pre-built program when the tripwire conditions are met?

NAD (Not A Decker) but I love this idea. It would really enhance the surveillance state theme, and give the idea of 'Banning people from the premises' a lot more oomph.

Adding back into this idea; I definitely think there should be counter measures, of course. Maybe some means of concealing yourself from daemons of this variety. Like a daemon that is like, #user-conceal where as long as you are "using" the associated device, it conceals you from daemons that might locate you.
