Given that the cost of wares and nanogens can be a lot of flash to carry around, it would be great if the kiosks at VS and SK could have the capability to let the person buy from them with the credit chips.

Carrying around a lot of flash means a lot of flash is able to be stolen from you by enterprising people. Hurray for economics!
