This would actually be trivial to add to the vending machines and I think would be a great idea.
In addition, I would suggest adding a handful of generic vehicles without security systems and equipped with weapons, then sell ammo for said weapons in the vending machine as well.
I feel like this takes too much of "try in real life" to safety of the SHFL maybe?

Vehicle combat is severely underutilized, so if this is a way to get people to try it out I'd be all for it. Riot Gear isn't 1:1 with the game anyway so it wouldn't be an accurate portrait of 'reality.'
