Bandaids, rags, scraps
Give me the bits and let god sort the rest

When a real seamstress makes clothes, there are bits. Sometimes bits can become a cleaning rag or something else. In Sindome, I propose after an item is finished, it leaves some scraps, which can be turned into either a bandage or a rag. Bandages can cover any one body part (maybe even the big ones instead of requiring several just for coded ease). Bandages are applied by dressing someone. Hopefully by a medic. Medics working either in a medical location or anyone holding a convenient shot of the right alcohol could make the bandages sanitary instead of just regular bandages. Bandages are one-time use; they fall apart once removed. Thus potentially requiring more of them. Bandages are applied after healing. I wouldn't be opposed to them actually helping healing either, like slowing bleeds, but also getting ruined by blood.

Bandages would go on the lowest layer clothing-wise, would be applied in a similar syntax to nail polish, and if applied by someone with medic skill, maybe be better? Bandages should also get dirty and need changing. They'd apply to any non bruise would (or maybe all wounds; that's fine.)

Might also allow for the infection mechanics to get going more, dirty bandage staying on? Gross. Get infection.

On to rags. Mop buckets are clunky at the best of times. A nice rag would do ya! Has a few uses in it to clean up a mess before it wears too thin.

Why? Gives tailors another income avenue that requires other players to consume the new goods, new goods being consumable but also good for RP, and potentially for faster healing in the case of bandages. Now we have a chain of RP with players that can branch. Someone could see the bandages, someone should probably change them, they can't be reused so no tailored RP bandages. Rags, same thing. No lugging the limited mop buckets around, also consumable.

I am all for any additions to medical RP to make it more interesting. I do like the idea of lower quality healing items, but would suggest that it's not only something tailors can do. I would argue that tailors already have a huge swath of applications of their art to get paid. Maybe a compromise with this idea is that if you have a tailor be the one to scrap this cloth into rags the healing is a little better than if JoeBaka off the street rips up his depot shirt?
I'm definitely game to be fine with scraps coming from tailors and anyone being able to turn those to rags. Maybe bandages require a bit of medical skill and get better with higher medical skill. No failure, just lower grade raggedy bandages versus nicer ones.
