It would be interesting to be able to install SIC amplifiers in the backs of Badlands vehicles and Badlands apartments. By activating SIC outside the gates like this, you'd give away to certain people who are looking for you that you're out there, but perhaps it simply returns "somewhere in the desert" to preserve the obscurity the Badlands usually provides.
Badlands amps would enable nomad bases that can stay in touch with the city while still leaving most of the Badlands signal-free.
