Ways to Improve Afterthoughts

Instead of using a password which is randomly generated and easily forgotten, why not…
1. make the password customizable / selectable
2. make the password just the SIC ID of the character at the time of the recording

Can the available Afterthoughts recordings be indexed and searchable somewhere, like on a node or database IC?

What if Afterthoughts was just a portable device instead of a room / building? You buy the device and put it at home to remember your loved ones. No brick and mortar.

I like both of these ideas. Having a moment in-between the final death-state to say a goodbye message that automatically gets uploaded would be nice. Maybe it could be expensive - a rare thing to see, a final gift for friends and loved-ones. Having a specialized password would be cool too - can even use that in role-play. A final coded message from a perma-dead player that only their closest friends would understand, cluing them in to an Afterthoughts message recorded in secret.

I really love the idea that you pre-purchase afterthoughts, and you can either record it now, and update it as many times as you want included in the price, but also leave you an option to do it after perming, with strong caveat that you won't remember last ~48h leading up to it, and that you won't give up any ongoing RP that leads to the death, so it won't become permed-snitch, just some time to leave message to your peeps.
