The shooters

Just thinking that there was a massive surge of guns in game a while back.  I'm thinking some of them should be reaped.  They used to be difficult to obtain, and getting one required some decent connections.  Now though, one just has to either sift through the market or say Gun out loud and they get one.  When I first got this char, a year ago, only the most influencial people had them, now, everyone has one.  Just a thought.
That wouldn't of happened on my watch. Damn gun nuts.
Well, I don't think it's anyone's fault persay, I remember reading somewhere on the board someone was complaining on the difficulty of getting them.  Then rather than a few more be introduced, BOOM, they were suddenly everywhere hehe.
My guess is that they were their all along. A year ago, a lot of the firearms were in private collections that I believe since then, have been redistributed naturally through the usual means of cube farming, cube farming and umm … cube farming. :)

Certain key big shots were shot down and lost their fortunes, so these things are bound to happen.

Ofcourse, at the same time, the staff may have been seeding more firearms than before, leading to the surplus you see now.

Also, tasks like the periodic clean up of the market probably reduced the likelihood of you getting crap at the market, thus increasing the chance of you getting a firearm to come to the top.

Ah…I'm just recalling a few years ago when I first played SD (and believe me I was far too immature to rock), I spent two months hoarding chyen and searching for a long time before spending 9k buying a gun from a judge...THAT was the only way I got one heh.
The 'browse item' feature at the market has allowed people search for specific things, so you can browse for guns a lot easier than before.  It used to take -hours-.  HOURS.
Eh, guns have never really been an issue for any of my characters, but if ya thinks about it. Yer in the mix, low end guns should be a dime a dozen despite stiff penalties.
I suppose that's a good way of looking at it.  I was just thinking though that they should become rare again so people are forced to use something other than a gun.  Like those other sweet weapons that nobody ever uses, like bats, chains, knives…etcetera.
There's a 'browse items' verb?

People do use those weapons. Just becuase everyone in the mix doesn't carry a knife doesn't mean nobody uses em. I mean, guns although easy to find (depending on who you are) are still rather expensive, and Average Joe mixer can probably at best afford a Seburo and still struggle with rent and recreation monies. Most people put off on buying a gun in order to buy a clone too, which is another expense.

So yeah, those in the monies are those with the guns, unless they just…ya know...found it or looted a corpse. And those with the monies need something to protect themselves from the others in the monies, the law, or the people trying to get into the monies, putting knives, bats, and chains in the backseat.

*takes all the guns away*  Moo hoo haa haa!
