In Withmore City, the Code of Militant Justice serves as a guideline for law enforcement but for some crime is a lifestyle. Whether a destitute panhandler, newly blooded ganger, illegal arms dealer, or self-styled urban terrorist; every day is a gambit evading the consequences of breaking the law. Criminal activity is a centerpiece of the thematic class war ever-present in Sindome. As a player, you will find it ubiquitous in coded features and player-influenced lore.
Getting away with it is just a part of the struggle, residents of Withmore City will often need to use every means necessary to get ahead legal or otherwise. In ones earliest forays into crime, consequences can seem overwhelming and brutal at times but the risk often equals the reward. It is important to remember that is not about succeeding or failing but rather telling a story. The web of intrigue woven around even the most innocuous illegal activity can often ripple in ways not perceived.

BOMBINGS ON GREEN AND BLUE
Bombing a place is a large action and we want to be prepared for the world to respond in a realistic way. This could mean ambient SIC messages, screams for help, WJF or Emergency Services responses, News Articles, etc. As such, if you're going to take this action on Green or Blue sector, we want a heads up. This heads up does not mean you won't get away with your crime. It does mean that there will be a response. This response helps make your effort meaningful and impactful. A response from the GMs is NOT a negative thing. We want to help your actions have the impact that you are intending, where possible.
RED SECTOR HQ LOCATIONS Players should submit an xhelp for permission before taking any aggressive or provocative actions within HQ locations on Red Sector. This includes gang HQ's, syndicate bases, and other faction headquarters. Examples of actions requiring approval:
- Attacking NPCs or players - Stealing, damaging, or vandalizing property - Planting surveillance devices - Infiltrating under false pretences - Any actions meant to provoke or antagonize the occupants
This allows staff to ensure appropriate NPC responses and maintain the integrity of these important locations. Approval is not guaranteed and may depend on IC circumstances.
PLAYING TO THE SPIRIT OF ROLEPLAY
Remember that while we try to be comprehensive, we can't anticipate every scenario. When considering an action, especially one that seems borderline or risky, ask yourself: "What are the realistic chances of being seen doing this? What are the odds of facing consequences or retaliation? Should I even be in this location?" If the potential for IC consequences seems high, it's likely a good idea to submit an xhelp before proceeding. While not required for everything, this approach helps maintain the game's realism and ensures that high-risk actions receive appropriate consideration and potential reactions from the game world. When in doubt, it's always better to check with staff first to ensure you get a fulfilling response to something your character does.
It's important to note that xhelping about an action doesn't mean your character will automatically be caught or face negative consequences. Rather, it allows staff to create an appropriate and realistic response to your character's actions, which can often lead to more engaging roleplay opportunities and a more immersive game experience.
