Withmore Savings Bank is aptly named, basically because all it is is an individuals savings bank/piggy bank with a little interest. I like the fact that funds can be transfered electronically to another players account, but you have to use their alias/name.
(A) If we moved to a code based system that allowed you to transfer sums to a bank account #, then a wonderfully anonymous system of payment could be estblished. Currently -physical contact- is required in practicaly all cases for money to exchange hands. Yes, I count couriers/go betweens/drop offs as physical contact.
(B) A number based system also would make for multiple bank accounts. What would be the point of having more than one account? It just makes sense. Maybe the limit could be set at two accounts per player, with the ability to open and close accounts at will (or change account numbers). Funds could be devided so as to provide a safety in the event of a decker somehow cleaning one account out.
(C) This idea is one I favor very strongly. I think one should be able to open an account where several players could deposit sums but would have to reach a mutual agreement/consensus in order to withdraw anything. This would create the possibility of a kind of 'fund' with multiple stakeholders. People would add money as they saw fit, everyone paying the same or some contributing more than others, then invest the pot it in a project of some kind together, either evenly or broken down by percentages. Currently, people trying to bring their money together in the interest of some goal have to either 1) Trust all the money to one person, or 2) put the money somewhere where everyone can access it. Meaning that people collecting money as a group simply does not happen in Sindome. This sucks.
(D) ...oh yes, and D. Banking on the Grid. It would be neat to be able to transfer funds to someone elses account from the Grid and manipulate the above features if they were ever implemented. I bank online in 06. Its 2091! We can't let 06 tech surpass Sindome now can we (even though most of the tech that supposedly surpasses current tech is non-functional...)? Hopeless..heh.
That's all. For me (A) and (C) are the most important.
