Allow lifting of vehicles
Damn that bata BEEFY!

Funny idea from a recent SIC, but it would be awesome if at a certain level of uber strength, characters were about to lift smaller vehicles like motorcycles, and maybe even at the upper most levels + chrome they could potentially lift cars?

Something about a chromed out, buff as fuck, exied to the gills person lifting a bike over their head and throwing it down the street in a fit of rage just puts a very cyberpunk smile on my face.

While it might be cyberpunk, I disagree from a game standpoint. Moving people's vehicles already requires specialized skillsets and even other vehicles in the game - I think it'd be easily abusable if you could simply grab your enemy's bike and run off with it because you invested in a single stat.
Depending on how this is done it could make it stupidly easy for vehicles to be stolen or other stuff, so I think it'd be cool to be able to lift a vehicle as a show of strength, but not not be able to move while doing it.
To be clear, I'm talking like UBER strong, like B or even A level strength. So this would be severely limited and require a ton of UE investment in STR to be able to do.
Even if they can't move, they can go all

Perhaps a SIC callout similar to killings and bombs.
Yes!

BOB >> Holy FUCK! Did you see that?? That hulking mano just lifted a HondaMitsu Cricket over his head on Lamb's Wake! I didn't even know that was possible!

I think if you have the PRI exoskeleton, you should be able to do it. It has lift points, is meant for this type of lifting.

Vehicle security is predicated on outside movement only occurring through hoist or tow which have all sorts of special limitations and only work in certain circumstances, I don't see any way that vehicles could be pushed/carried by a player that wouldn't completely invalidate all security mechanisms and gameplay around them.

It would introduce all sorts of problems with vehicles being inside spaces they can't exit from either, or can't properly exist in at all.

Not feeling it for the reasons already listed. Howeveeeeeer...

If there's restrictions on it so you could say...only lift vehicles you own or are authorized on? I'm down for it.

Also this is kind of orthogonal to the point but someone said in the OOC Chat discussion that strength checks were twice as costly in UE to make, and could therefore justify some advantages, which is not actually the case. This is outlined in help stats and help substats, ie. that strength has only one substat (muscle) whereas all the others but luck have two, so to raise any given substat you must (on average) raise the parent stat twice.

Strength showing as starting at 2.0 UE per raise instead of 1.0 is because the actual true stat is not halved (or approximately halved within a few percent) like all the other stats are.

Passing a MUS check is exactly as difficult as passing any exactly equal OUT or CRD or whatever other kind of stat roll and requires the same UE investment to do so.

Though "exactly as difficult" is not entirely true, to fact check my own phrasing, but it's true in the sense that strength isn't twice as expensive to advance as the other stats.

Either way, better to read the help files.

Strength is also already one of the strongest stats in the game, having it invalidate entire niches for what amounts to a gag isn't cool. Besides, the only 'cyberpunk' part about it is someone like Adam Smasher doing that, not your local powerlifter from the Edge.
This is a cool idea and I see where you are coming from but we won't be doing this. Vehicle theft is already a tricky balance and the ideas for mitigating that here such as only lifting your own vehicle make the entire thing so niche that it really wouldn't be worth the large amount of code (and probably bugs) that would need to be introduced to make this happen.
